Report Illicit Drug Reactions (RIDR)
Have you or your team had to deal with patients with adverse effects from new psychoactive substances (NPS) and other illicit drugs?
RIDR is here to help. Report Illicit Drug Reactions (RIDR) is a national system for reporting unexpected or severe illicit drug reactions. The RIDR project is led by Public Health England (PHE) in collaboration with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Clinicians from across the UK can report any unexpected or severe illicit drug reactions that they encounter using the online portal
RIDR aims to improve the understanding of illicit drug harms and increase the speed at which they are detected. Reports are analysed by PHE and examined alongside other data to determine emerging harms across the UK.
To support us in promoting RIDR, you can display the RIDR poster
in your department to encourage your team to report unexpected or severe illicit drug reactions that they encounter quickly online. We would greatly appreciate your help in promoting RIDR by displaying this poster. The more reports that we receive from clinicians, the more accurately and quicker these harms can be identified.
An up-to-date summary of the latest clinical messages and intelligence on emerging drug harms
is available to all clinicians.
