The Chair of the Northern Ireland National Board is Dr Ian Crawford (South West Acute Hospital, Western Health And Social Care Trust). The board represents the Members and Fellows working in the five Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland. It serves to: 

  • provide a point of contact for Members and Fellows on College matters and all aspects of Emergency Medicine
  • communicate information from Northern Ireland to the College, and disseminate information from the College to its Members and Fellows
  • actively work to improve urgent and emergency care services across Northern Ireland by working closely with senior health officials, the Minister for Health of Northern Ireland and other key health and social care stakeholders.

The board represents the Members and Fellows working in the 14 NHS Scotland Health Boards. It serves to: 

  • provide a point of contact for Members and Fellows on College matters and all aspects of Emergency Medicine
  • communicate information from Northern Ireland to the College, and disseminate information from the College to its Members and Fellows
  • actively work to improve urgent and emergency care services across Scotland by working closely with senior health officials, the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport and other key health and social care stakeholders.

The Chair of the Wales National Board is Dr Robin Roop (Wrexham Maelor Hospital) and the Vice Chair is Dr Jo Mower (University Hospital Of Wales). 

The board represents the Members and Fellows working in the seven Local Health Boards in Wales. It serves to:

  • provide a point of contact for Members and Fellows on College matters and all aspects of Emergency Medicine
  • communicate information from Wales to the College, and disseminate information from the College to its Members and Fellows
  • actively work to improve urgent and emergency care services across Wales by working closely with senior health officials, the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services and other key health and social care stakeholders. 

Board meetings are held three times a year in alternative North and South Wales locations. The board is made up of all Consultants in Emergency Medicine in Wales who are members of the College.

The board represents the Fellows and Members of the College working in the 11 Acute Trusts within the South East Coast Strategic Health Authority area, and those Fellows and Members registered within Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
 
The board serves to:
 
  • Provide a point of contact for Fellows and Members on College Matters and College Standards
  • Communicate information from the region to the College, and disseminate information from the College to its Fellows and Members
  • Liaise with local NHS bodies (such as the Strategic Health Authority and the Ambulance Service) on matters relating to emergency care
